Goodwill’s Pay it 4ward at Flagstar Bank

Posted on July 28th, 2009 by admin

Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit, which enables those with disabilities and other roadblocks to employment to become self-supporting, is giving new meaning to the phrase “pass the buck” with its current campaign, Pay It 4ward.

Considering the high level of unemployment throughout Metro Detroit, Russ Russell, vice president of development, marketing and public relations, knew there had to be a way to help those in need due to job loss. Somehow, he “came up with the idea in the middle of the night” to start a “grass-roots movement” that would make it easy for “all Metro Detroiters to come to the aid of our unemployed neighbors, friends and families.”

The way the campaign works is quite simple. Put a dollar or more (cash or check payable to Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit) in a Pay It 4ward envelope and pass it on to a friend, family member or co-worker, encouraging that person to do the same.

Each person should sign the back of the envelope, include the amount of donation and his/her e-mail address. The 25th person to receive the envelope should take it, along with all donations, to a Flagstar Banking center, Caribou Coffee locations or Drakeshire Lanes (Farmington Hills). Pickup service is available by calling Goodwill Industries at (866) 964-GIVE.
