Is there a donation center in Puerto Plata for earthquake survivors in Haiti?

Posted on January 22nd, 2010 by admin

I’m going to Puerto Plata next week and thought I would bring as much clothing and things if there was a place to drop these items for the people of Haiti.

Good night.

Well; for being honest i don’t think so. Here (in Puerto Plata) i haven’t heared that somewhere is a donation center. But it doesn’t stops people to do it. For example in schools youngs make donation of foods and drinks to take them to Haiti. And lots of people say that they’re gonna donate (even if i don’t know how) and i think they do it. I’ll TOTALLY recomend you to bring as many stuff as you can; cuz even if you don’t know how or where to donate; you just gotta go to a police office and ask them, and problem solved.

In Puerto Plata we feel bad because of our haitians brothers or neighbors; and we know that in the whole word it’s the same. So bring as much help as you can!

How thoroughly do blood donation centers check blood to ensure it is free of STDs and other diseases?

Posted on December 29th, 2009 by admin

Do they do the same kind of test that some people undergo when they visit the doctor to see if they suspect they have an STD? If you are infected, how soon will the blood center contact the infected donor?

They are very thouough

To thos with plasma donation experience: does albuterol cause you to be deferred at all?

Posted on December 26th, 2009 by admin

Will a plasma donation center defer you for any length of time if you start taking albuterol? How long is the deferral?
Just to clarify, I’m referring to if you _alert_ the donation center about the albuterol, as you’re supposed to, will they then defer you. :-)

I never had any problems and i take albuterol on a regular basis.

What do you call people who draw blood for plasma centers? are they called phlebotemists?

Posted on December 18th, 2009 by admin

i know venipuncture is drawing blood too. but what are the people who draw blood in plasma centers and blood donation centers called, and what type of degree do they have to work in that profession?

They are phlebotomists. I took a course on it a few years ago. Its a lot easier than you would think just about anyone can do it with a little training. They do have schools for training and you can volunteer your time at places like blood banks and also at a prison for experience. After a while you can go to work in labs and get paid for it.

I bought a car at a donation center and the title has a lien, this lien holder is now out of business?

Posted on December 6th, 2009 by admin

How can I remove the lien from the car title if this dealership is no longer in business. It took me 2 years to fix the car and now i cant register it in PA because of the lien issue.

Every state has a process for resolving these matters.

Your first step should be to obtain the lien-holder information. You should then contact your state’s DMV and ask the specific process they require for removal of what may be an invalid or non-surviving lien.

You can then try to contact the lien-holder to either obtain a release or determine if they are indeed "out of business". (Businesses may not be operating by may continue to legally exist) You can do this by contacting your state’s department of professional regulation, secretary of state, or franchise tax board. Once you’re able to document the business entity has indeed been dissolved, there is no claimant to pursue the lien, and you can then pursue its removal as the lien-holder no longer exists.

It may seem time consuming, but it’s actually a series of relatively straightforward steps; and the state agencies are familiar with process. I’m sure, within a phone call or two, someone will be able to guide you through the entire process. It may not happen overnight, but it’s relatively straightforward.

Best of luck. I hope this helps.
