Names of charity institutions who take old clothes donations located in Hyderabad?

Posted on September 16th, 2009 by admin

Okay, ppl did not read the entire question.
There are some churches and some mosques in this city.
Try there, first.
I think that there is an orphanage, but it might not be in that city.
It might be in Lahore.
I don’t know.
I was looking up WVI, world Vision the other day and there is an agency in Pakistan.
But, I don’t htink that it is in your city.
I am not too fond of WVI because of there many restrictions on their donors.
But, it is worth a try.
I know someone in hiderabad that I could ask.

What organization will pick up donation (clothes etc.)?

Posted on September 14th, 2009 by admin

I am moving out shortly (I live in Fort Collins, Co) and I have a lot of stuff that I will have to throw away if nobody will pick up (clothes, kitchenware etc.). I would like to donate this to some organization, but I already sold my car, so they will need to come pick it up themselves (I know that Goodwill for instance will not come to your house). Any ideas?

Salvation army, churches or check which community service distributes meals on wheels and they could refer you to the right place. If you put it on the curb marked FREE alot will get taken. Also, alot of communities have the red boxes for donations thru Red Cross

CAn clothes donation be tax exempt? Where can i donate my unwanted clothes?

Posted on September 10th, 2009 by admin

Yes, it’s tax exempt but you need to get and keep your receipt. The Salvation Army and Goodwill get so many donations that they throw away their abundance all the time. I prefer to give mine to places that get fewer donations–homeless shelters, places that help refugees, places that help the poor, etc. One of the best places I’ve found is the county psychiatric hospital. People are sometimes brought in off the street or don’t expect to be hospitalized and come in with only the clothes they’re wearing.

i want to deduct my clothes donation and my tithes donation can I?

Posted on September 8th, 2009 by admin

i donated about 200.00 in clothes and i recieved my annual tithes report i want to know on what line do I report this information on the 1040

They go on Schedule A, specifically lines 16 & 17. It’s advisable to get a receipt on non-cash donations, but for amounts under $500 value, not absolutely necessary.

The bad news is that if you don’t have enough to itemize you can’t use them.

As for Ryan’s opinion that a tithe is somehow not a donation, I don’t know where it comes from, but it’s wrong.

Do local clothing donation organizations take used clothes?

Posted on September 6th, 2009 by admin

We have like…7-8 garbage bags FULL of baby clothes.
We used to do foster care.
Most of the clothes are like new, so we don’t want to throw them away.
We also don’t feel like organizing a garage sale v___v
If anyone knows of any place in Northeast Ohio that takes this kinda stuff for kids in need, please let me know.!

There are many places that will gratefully accept your donations, from Planned Parenthood, Salvation Army, Goodwill also: Clothing and shoes. Fire Departments, Red Cross, Local Churches.
If you have women’s clothing, shoes and accessories that are business- or job-interview-appropriate — especially if the clothing is size 2, 4 or 14 and up — consider donating them to Dress for Success, which helps low-income women get the attire they need to secure a job and succeed. Contact the organization at ( 216-391-2301). Other old shoes and clothes can be dropped off at many charity locations around town, including about 70 Planet Aid collection bins in Cuyahoga County (find bin locations online). That is very thoughtful and kind of your, and I know they will appreciate any and all cothes, to be put to good use.http://www.modestneeds.org/tools/resources and http://www.cradlestocrayons.org

Thank you – much appreciated!

Feed and Clothe the Need 2007

On Dec. 20, 2007, food and clothes were donated to those in need on East Hastings. I’m really short, which explains why the camera angle was low most of the time.

My arm makes an appearance in the video (during the part where I handed out cans of Cola)
